Dropbox Review - A+

  • May 04, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's intuitive. Once it's set up, the navigation is easy. I can create many folders and sub-folders with a ton of documents while keeping them off my own hardrive (saving space and keeping my machine nimble). I also like the ability to have shared files with others. The real time updatres are also extremely helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been a handful of times (rare but frustrating) where the system has glitched and refused to save changes. However, it's only happned a few times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a 100% remote team with individuals across all time zones. It's very convenient having a shared document repository for use on colloboarative projects. It's also a convenient place to store informational documents like contracts or policies. This gives us all access to the same documents at the same time. Another benefit is being able to work on documents with sensitive information without having to email them. Just a must safer alternative.

Easy and Simple - A Must!

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the sharing properties inside of Dropbox. My classes use DropBox to share assignments and essays with one another with ease, which allows us to collaborate efficiently. I also really enjoy how DropBox notifies me whenever someone has edited a file or has uploaded a file, and who that person specifically is.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like how when I try to take a document off of DropBox, it does not automatically copy the document then put a copy onto my desktop. Instead, it will take the original document and take it off my DropBox. A copy and paste is possible, but be careful you don't accidentally take it out entirely!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DropBox is allowing greater and more efficient autonomy within my workplace. My co-workers' schedule is highly individualized, so this will enable me to edit and share documents when I have access to them, and then they can work on their responsibilities when I cannot get on my computer. Also, it lets me see who is on the project, who has edited what pieces of our projects, and allows live or staggered collaboration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would suggest DropBox to anyone who needs to find a way to stay organized with collaborating. Our team uses a "SandBox" file, where everyone throws in their pitches, where they will remain archived. This allows for people to brainstorm creatively and still have their work available. In addition with that, our DropBoxes then have the freedom to change and adapt with our current projects, including peer reviews and heavy edits.

from computer to phone easy transfer

  • May 03, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
I have the app on my phone, and I use a windows OS which backs up files in the C drive automatically to dropbox. I find it very easy to transfer content from my phone to a computer to open another computer and see all my files from my computer there. Cloud storage is the best
What do you dislike about the product?
The very little space they provide. It provides only 5 GB, and for additional you have to pay much more. It's ridiculous because dropbox automatically syncs every file on my computer to the cloud, and it's complicated to manage which to store and which ones not to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If i could figure how to stop dropbox from automatically syncing everything, it would be great. Also, their file management isn't very pleasing to look at. Google Drive has better layout

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to set up on a desktop or access from the cloud. I have been using dropbox for probably eight years. I use it at work, for school, and to back up any essential files. Because the desktop app is so easy to use, I can make sure that my files are available on whatever device I am on at the moment. I also use the phone app to keep track of things. While my work does nto have an official license for this product, most of my co-workers use it because of its ease of access. I can see this company becoming more popular especially with google photos and drive begining to limit their photo storage. It is really easy to use and a greate alternative to some of the other leading solutions out there.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more free storage available or more ways to get free storage. I am not a paying member, so the storage that I get is from referrals. I do not feel the need to be a paying member since my organization has other solutions available for storage and anything I store on there for my persnal use is also manually backed up on an external hard drive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud storage is my main focus with this product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is yet another cloud option. It has been around probably before google drive, which means that they have had time to improve upon things. It has a phenomenal desktop app.

Easy, fast and accessible

What do you like best about the product?
It's super-easy to start using it and to configure the desktop extension to synch it with your local drive. It's perfect to share files with your team and also with external people.
What do you dislike about the product?
Managing what has to be synced and what not with your local drive is not as easy and intuitive as the rest of the app, so you may end up having your local drive full because you synched too much!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing big files with colleagues and clients in a seamless way, working collaboratively on the files, reducing local drive usage by saving big files in cloud, having your files secured on managed storage
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't think of Dropbox as a backup system: it's a sharing service. Especially if you use local synching, deleting a file means the file is gone. Forever (both locally and in cloud)

What do you like best about the product?
It is a secure and reliable program, I love it!
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't say there is anything I dislike, it is a great program
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I no longer worry about losing files as they are now saved in Dropbox. The benefit is not worrying about space on the hard drive and also no longer worry about a computer crash destroying my files

Dropbox customer service is very spotty and takes a very long time to get a response

  • April 24, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to copy a link from and then share a specific file with a client. And Dropbox allows people you want to share with to have access to a particular item via sharing.
What do you dislike about the product?
CUSTOMER SERVICE is almost non-existent. There is no phone number or chat to get help. You have to figure out how to email them. Then wait....and wait....for days. If you have a problem with Dropbox, plan on not using it until someone gets back to you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work with other people, and Dropbox allows us to jump into the same file to view or edit.

Dropbox is Useful as well as Efficient storage application

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is actually user-friendly and enables my group to share documents effortlessly We are able to switch between local files and Dropbox files and in no way think that we skipped a beat. The integration with pc files is smooth and scans just like local documents, which means we do not have to learn some other software for file-sharing
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, the desktop application function is sluggish to synchronize, creating a short temporary stop in file-sharing abilities. This problem does not occur frequently and frequently eliminates by itself in some minutes. All around, Dropbox is actually good for the crew's requirements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My own teammates, as well as I, can easily share documents efficiently and quickly. We make use of some other file-sharing methods, but Dropbox is certainly the simplest and a lot efficient. We no more need to wait around for lengthy times or use multi-step procedures with regard to file-sharing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A good and recommended application to store your local files.
