The modern way to store and share files

  • July 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox had a significant influence on how we manage our departments, making our procedures more streamlined and efficient in a variety of ways. Reports used to have to be linked to emails and transferred from one unit to another, but Dropbox now allows us to share them with numerous people by just dragging and dropping them. Apart from addressing that system's file storage issue (not having a cloud storage), the desktop alerts notifications that allow all team members to keep informed about updates and next steps.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox isn't as sophisticated as Google Drive or other online storage systems, and it doesn't have all of the same features, but it gets the job done. It becomes crowded when a large number of individuals share content across several networks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team and I no longer have to rely on my physical storage device, which has its own set of restrictions. I can access my data from anywhere, thanks to cloud storage. Because I can work from any place, my job productivity has increased. Dropbox is my favorite cloud storage service.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is highly recommended.

I am sad to see the king of file sharing dethroned

  • July 16, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox continues to be a functional cloud-sharing solution. Its Windows File Explorer integration is better than Microsoft's own OneDrive and comparable to Google Drive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to other file sharing solutions on the market, Dropbox is simply outgunned. Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive integrate tightly into their document editors. Each offer significantly more storage space for their free solutions, and are comperably priced for their fee-based business account offerings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Presently I have a few files hanging around on Dropbox that I've yet to bother moving to another provider.

Powerful and reliable but a one trick pony

  • July 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Always works and is super reliable. Never has any issues with syncing or sharing. Interface always works as intended
What do you dislike about the product?
It's only one product for the cost. When compared to other storage options this one only has storage per user at the same cost as systems with lots of other features
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing files with clients
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at the full picture. Many other products offer the same storage options as an free feature for the same per user cost as just this

Excellent Asset Management

  • July 15, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The asset management portion of this software is excellent. Keeping folders straight within my team is a feat in itself, and this tool makes that much easier for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
The collaboration on Dropbox leaves a little bit to be desired. I have to open 3 different tabs to edit an Excel sheet that lives in Dropbox. I do wish there were some more Google-Sheets-like abilities to make the teamwork easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to keep all of our assets and documents in one place, which is very helpful for the creatives on my team who are not particularly organizationally-minded.

Easy to Use Cloud Storage!

  • July 15, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Using Dropbox is just like using your regular desktop. It connects and syncs in the background while I work away. If I need to go remote I can turn on my laptop and all the files will sync. Anyone on the team has instant access to the files when they need them.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I don't give my laptop enough time to sync I have to use the online browser to find those files. Most files aren't needed right away so the Smart Sync working better would fix this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to connect the team and everyone have access to the files as they are updated.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get the desktop app. Set it to Smart Sync if you work with a lot of large files. This will keep you computer harddrive from filling up with files you only use once in a while or never again.

Running out of Space on the phone? use this

  • July 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you just upload with no worries! great for email
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont like that you run out of space quickly if you are uploading a TON
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am figuring out how to keep memories alive without losing the integrity of my iphone. I also realized this is a great way keep the memories on extra cloud. If you take 100 photos on a vacation easy way to store! If you are looking for more additional space Dropbox is great for videos, pcitures and even projects you are working on for youtube! I found paying the extra fee for more addtional space is excellent and it helps ease the fear of running out of space.

Dropbox also has a feature where you can sync the storage to your iphone using the app for the convience. It does cost money to have more space but to be completely honest it doesnt hurt having the minimum extra fee to not worry so much about running out of space.

Dropbox also provides links for easy access to extra stored stuff for people who dont have it. Its also a great way to send stuff over email over gmail because gmail only allows 25GB dropbox allows up to 50GB to be sent over the internet. Dropbox also allows up to 250GB storage which is pretty much the size of a compter! Excellent product and im ery happy with what i got out of it. You should totally use it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
make sure you have the right mindset and the app when uploading its better than mediafire

Works well and does what it says it will do

  • July 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox basically invented online file sharing and they are really good at it. It's intuitive and easy to use. It couldn't be easier to share files with others and I feel like they have really good encryption to make sure my files are safely and securely stored in the cloud. I never had to worry about their pricing, but it seems fairly priced compared to other online storage solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much to dislike about Dropbox except for the fact that I don't see much use for it anymore with offerings from Microsoft and Google. If you're using either of their suites for your business needs, then a lot of times you don't need Dropbox on top of it. So I'm not too sure why you would use Dropbox if you already use another company's suite of office software. I'm not sure what benefits Dropbox has over other software suites that make it more worth it than the others.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing and storing files that I've needed. Benefit is I could access my work documents wherever I needed to be on whatever device. They have good apps that allow you to access your files on basically any machine.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
See what storage solutions you get with other software suites first.

Great tool for storage and organization

  • July 15, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that Dropbox gives you the ability to have all of your documents in one space. I can see all of my documents within one platform in a cloud storage space. When I'm on the go, I don't have to worry about not having access to my work or taking along a bulky external hard drive to connect to my computer. Everything is housed in one convenient space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited storage. I understand that they have to do that in order to maximize their opportunity and manage space.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am not very organized therefore Dropbox allows me to stay organized. It has helped me increase productivity because I have this convenient cloud space to host all of my items. I can create folders and categorize my work so that things are sorted.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great tool to keep you organized and your documents accessible.

10 years of document management lost because my cellphone number changed

  • July 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It was an easy interface that was one of the cloud storage solutions commercially available.
What do you dislike about the product?
The customer service was horrible, in my case. I had used DropBox for over 10 years. I switched cellphones, and the porting process did not work properly, so I lost the cellphone number that I had for 22 years. I had multiple ways for DropBox to confirm my identity because I was using 2-factor authentication. I could not access my account because the phone number had changed, and after 6 months working with customer care, I got tired of fighting with them. Although they had a home number on file and 2 backup numbers, they refused to change my account access to a different verification method. So, I lost 10 years of personal and business data that I had collected over the years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ironically, in 10 years, that was the only problem I had with the service. So the only customer service exposure I had with them was extremely negative, and the techs were completely inept, or they didn't care about my crisis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use Microsoft OneDrive

The easiest and most secure to use

  • July 15, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've had Dropbox for years, before they even offered a business plan. Having DropBox allows me to travel and never lose my data. It also has saved me with two failing hard drives which occurred with no warning both with Dell Alienware computers.

Having the important files backed up meant I didn't lose years of work or important client projects. Also, it's highly secure so far and much more reliable than Apple, Google or OneDrive and they seem to really care about protecting their customers data from hackers which means I'm able to pay my bills reliably rather than lose everything and my ability to work and keep a roof over my head which for everyone is pretty important.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really at the moment. I am pretty happy though I will state I'm not a user that uses a lot of public sharing data, so this review doesn't include that. I keep my data private and have limited, but some, collaboration.

I do wish the filing system and search was better designed. I find that on the web version, it's clunky to find folders and files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security of data, cloud storage and ability to keep data access in the events of hardware failures. The benefit for me is peace of mind.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want something that is highly mobile and works, use this. I also do love that it fully integrates with my mobile devices so when I'm with clients I can log in and show them work rather than lug around an entire computer setup.
