Its save and reliable without have to carry memory sticks around. My computer crashed several times over the years and I could retrieve and backup my information through dorpbox
What do you dislike about the product?
I must delete my Dropbox if it gets to full and one time I clicked on a file and lost it but I didn't delete it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Can send instant links of my music files to family friends and colleagues. And I don't have to carry dvds, cds and memory sticks around.
Recommendations to others considering the product:

I love how accessible things are! Dropbox is very
What do you dislike about the product?
There are lots of other cloud storage softwares, but Dropbox is hard to beat. The only thing is the price... Dropbox gets expensive FAST. Also, it drives me insane how you can upload everything easily to the Dropbox drive to save space on your hard drive, but then if you need it off the hard drive, you don't have enough space on the hard drive and then you're stuck unless you buy an external hard drive for extra space. It's tricky and cumbersome to get away from Dropbox once you've been using Dropbox for a while... they know how to hook you and keep you, that's for sure!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My office loves the accessibility of Dropbox and how it automatically syncs to your laptop. Also, it makes uploads into the cloud easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend setting aside at least an hour or two when initially setting up Dropbox. It takes TIME to upload your information into Dropbox and can be a bit cumbersome. Other than that, everything is pretty straightforward. I would also recommend considering the size of your hard drive and how easily you want to be able to back out of Dropbox. Even though Dropbox is pricey, we've stuck with them because downloading all your files on a small hard drive after you've been using Dropbox for a while is next to impossible.

Long-Term Satisfied User

What do you like best about the product?
The service is very intuitive and easy to use. All files are synced across all your devices and files stored on the cloud are also available offline on your computer.
Uploading files on a laptop is fast, intuitive, and seamless. I particularly like how Dropbox can be set up and integrated within your computer file management, basically appearing as just another folder. This also allows you to access, move and drop files within Dropbox even while offline; the sync will be done automatically once you will be connected to the internet.
Dropbox also offers integration with all the other essential apps you might use professionally: Slack, Evernote, Chrome, Trello...

Throughout the years, Dropbox has really managed to keep its service as best in class despite facing a lot of competition thanks to regular upgrades.
Their tagline "It Just Works" is spot on, I have never encountered any issue in the 9 years I have been using Dropbox.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price point is quite high. Cheaper plans could be offered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox also allows me to save a lot of space on my personal devices by storing files in the cloud and at the same time sharing the relevant documents easily with my coworkers and clients. It also lets me access all the files stored on Dropbox when I am offline, which is invaluable.

Easy way to transfer docs to others

  • July 21, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I am able to throw things into a folder in drop box and share that file with others in my company or personal life. I like that it doesnt require you to download an app. The upside on using dropbox professional is that it seems to be a secure way to send files around that may have more private information. I like that there is a search feature for those who do not know exactly what document they are looking for, they can add keywords or even codes to help pull up those documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that sometimes it takes longer to refresh and there for when using it as a way to move docs around, it looks like you are still working on something you've already moved over. I hope in the future they can make the refresh rate faster, or make it to where it just automatically knows it is now gone when you move or delete a file and its just no longer there. I dislike that if when you search for something and nothing populates its because the phrase you looked up did not match exactly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to throw things in a folder and have someone on my team pick them up, continue working them and drop them back in with all finishes and signatures needed on their side. Working remote this helps greatly when we need copies of notarized documents but do not wish to wait on an email to receive them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Between dropbox and email, I would choose this. I do not believe it to be the safest route if you send docs around with extremely personal info, but it's excellent for those documents that somebody can send without worry. Its an excellent product for a reasonable cost. I do like they offer a free version to be used in personal matters or even with smaller companies that don't need to use it often. I reccomend to anyone.

DropBox review

  • July 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to share files with other people.
The possibility of accessing data anytime you want.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free storage that is given to the standard subscribers is very small and limited. Therefore, when you exceed the free storage limit, some saved files/data can not be accessed or retrieved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In case the computer system has crashed down and formating the system is needed, I have a copy of my data saved on the DropBox cloud system. This way I would not lose my data and I will be able to retrieve it once I fix my computer.
It is convenient when it comes to sharing files with other people when working on team projects. This way people within the team would not need to send the files back and forth and instead, they could work and access the file at the same time.

Easiest way to share files with anyone anywhere

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is the best way to share a file with anyone, anywhere. I love that in 1 minute total I can upload a file, send it to someone around the world, and they can download it all in less time than it takes to make a cup of coffee.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much I dislike! Sometimes a file won't upload the first time, or a request will time out before it's supposed to but those are minimal issues that rarely happen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team is entirely remote with members everywhere from Boston to Washington State and even Hawaii. We have to share all sorts of files with team members and they need access instantly, as well as the ability to share files and co edit. Dropbox allows us to do that in an instant.

Good for backup storage

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox has been around for about ten years. It's easy to create a free account with a small amount of storage. If you have an education account, you get additional storage. There are also business accounts that have more features. If you need more storage, you can buy as needed, and the rates are generally cheap. Dropbox works on any device (windows, mac, android, iPhone). You can choose only to sync a few folders to your local drive not to take up a lot of space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes syncing between phone and computer can get a little finicky. For example, I only want to sync one folder on my phone, but I have to use a different app to do the things I need that works in conjunction with dropbox. They can also get pretty expensive if you need to buy more storage because it's a recurring fee.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am looking for a place to back up storage and access some files from anywhere. I also have to use dropbox to share files with other users and edit and update files while keeping version history. The most significant benefit is that it works for services that don't automatically have backup and collaboration features. The most important use is you don't have to download all the files, and you can only download the ones that you need.

Can't live without dropbox!

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can access files from multiple devices, including phones, tablets, and numerous workstations, even from the internet. The ease of accessing my files from anywhere with internet access is such a huge feature for me that I've grown not to be able to live without dropbox!
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the downloadable desktop app user interface not to be very user-friendly. It can be frustrating to navigate and figure out all the settings for non-tech users. I feel like I always have to click on dozens of buttons in the settings area to prevent dropbox from automatically downloading everything on my computer, which makes take up so much of my storage. I wish this feature were more user-friendly and intuitive. Once I do have everything set to my preference, then I don't have any problems. However, anytime I set up the app on a new computer, I have to struggle all over again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox allows my team to share files with colleagues with ease. It also allows us to access files from anywhere, which is great when teleworking. For example, I have files on my work computer, but when working from a different computer at my home office or when traveling, I can easily access those files. I love the ability to do this.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The free version gives you limited storage space. It's useful to use when trying out the service, but over time it's more convenient to pay for the extra storage space.

Great for file storage and easy file sharing

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love accessing my files saved in dropbox from anywhere and not being tied to my computer. I also appreciate having smart sync to select what from Dropbox gets saved to my laptop. Another feature that I found very useful is being able to restore files that accidentally get deleted. It has saved me some grief.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't particularly appreciate having to log out from one account to access a file shared with me using another email account. I have to remember under what Dropbox accounts specific files are shared, then download the files and upload them into my main account so that I have what I need in one main place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to store and organize years' worth of projects safely with Dropbox. It has also been beneficial when needing to pull up an old file to share with a client and even allowing them to share files with us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's an excellent tool for storing files and being able to access them from virtually anywhere. It's simple, easy to use without extras.

Okay product, but there are better options

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is a stable application, it provides plenty of storage, and Dropbox added file collaboration, which was a significant consideration for me to continue using. You can use a web browser to access your files, and you can install the desktop client and access your files through the file manager, making it assimilate more into your regular workflow. When you have a file open without collaboration, an icon pops up that should notify you if other users are currently editing that file.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free storage size is smaller than its competitors at 2GB. It may be a personal preference, but I prefer Google Drive's file collaboration. I also have issues with Dropbox dropping its sync connection on my desktop, causing conflicting copies of files, and not updating other users with the most recent information. I have to restart Dropbox perhaps once a month or so. I also feel like more users outside of my organization are familiar with Google products, especially customers who may not use products like this for personal day-to-day use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a standard encrypted, file-sharing storage solution with file collaboration. We utilize it to share files and to back up and store documents.
