Best cloud storage software for personal use

  • August 13, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing I find about Dropbox is its file sync feature between phone and laptop. Whenever I upload a file to the Dropbox app of my smartphone, the file gets synced to my computer instantly. The uploading of files to Dropbox is smooth and instant. Another thing I like about Dropbox is that it can be linked with most of the apps as we can add files to the apps directly from Dropbox. Overall I find Dropbox better than other cloud drives.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about Dropbox is that the unpaid version gives only 2 GB of cloud data, which is too little as compared to other cloud drive softwares. After sharing with others we get 500MB of extra storage, but still, it is not sufficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Earlier I lost many old photos and documents stored in my phone while my old phone was damaged. But now, there is no similar issue as I upload all my essential documents and other files to Dropbox.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend dropbox to students and professionals who are facing difficulty in storing their essential files.

Recommend Dropbox for seamless collaboration

  • August 13, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox has many features that make it easy to collaborate and share documents across our team. My entire organization lives all over the United States, so we need a system that makes it easy to send documents and Dropbox allows us to do that. Dropbox also helps me stay organized with how you can create folders.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing that I dislike about the platform. All good things!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem that we are solving as an organization is the sharing of documents across teams and how seamless this process is with Dropbox. After uploading a document, you're able to just send a link to your teammate and they can edit/view/access the document.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Dropbox for the ease of carrying around large files without using up all the space on your device's storage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Twice I have had files disappear while on my iPhone Dropbox app for no known reason.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefit is to have access to large files and multiple files quickly. I'm able to access and share them easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Dropbox but make sure your files are also backed up elsewhere.

The best service to store your digital files and always have them in "your pocket"

  • August 12, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Before subscribing to a paid subscription, I was already a Dropbox user since the early days — I used it to store my university files and I had some extra storage provided by the university. Since then I have used and tested many other providers like Google Drive, OneDrive, Apple iCloud or Box, both personally and professionally and I never found any other that works better and as easily as Dropbox.
It's really easy to set up in mobile devices as well as in desktops/laptops, both Windows and Mac, the plans have reasonable pricing and storage in comparison to competitors and the overall the service is more reliable and well designed than others — for example, almost every image file can be previewed within Dropbox without the need of downloading them, even Raw files or large PSD files from Photoshop, something really important for me given that I'm a designer.
What do you dislike about the product?
For a long period of time, there was a problem with Dropbox on Mac laptops were "ghost files" were occupying large amounts of space. This problem was happening to a large number of customers but Dropbox wasn't really doing anything to solve it nor providing an ETA. This is solved now, at least for me but the thread is still very active in the Dropbox forums, so I'm not sure if this problem is still happening to some customers or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Store backups of my digital files (mostly Raw photos and large images)
- Access that from any device connected to the internet
- Easly share files with clients and friends
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just make sure to follow the initial instructions of the setup and decide whether or not you want/need to have the option to "save hard drive space" turned on .

Safe and Secure Online Storage

What do you like best about the product?
DropBox is a very secure Online Storage Solution. It is very easy to access and to make things even more secure, it has the Single SignOn Option as well. DropBox can be integrated with Active Directory this makes it possible for the end user to login with their Windows credentials.
I use Dropbox extensively to update my project status and also save my scripts. I can access it anytime even while I am on the move. Dropbox can be installed and configured on any Mobile Device
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing to dislike about Dropbox. It is a very well designed Application
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having Dropbox and being able to access my documents via phone, helps me be on top of things and I am able to complete tasks on time.

Everything you need for storage

  • August 12, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how I can sync files with the cloud directly even if I add them to my local system in a dropbox folder. Also, the fact that I can share specifically the data with third-party vendors as per requirement just with a link . the option to view PDFs and Dxf files directly in dropbox without the need to download them first helps a lot.
What do you dislike about the product?
If using sync with the local system and not just cloud, the local storage is also occupied, and the data gets added on and on, resulting in a space crunch on the local system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Majorly all release data is stored on dropbox. So in case, anyone wants to look into an older version of the file, that is also possible. We use it mainly for storage purposes and secured data sharing with suppliers or vendors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No problems faced so far. Does the job it is supposed to.

Drop your files to this cloud.

What do you like best about the product?
I have used Dropbox for official use and I want to say to this is the simplest way to sharing large files here and there especially this situation when we are trying to work from home is very helpful to share files these days also we can purchase more storage from dropbox and at more large files and it's very safe with their security and also this is a cloud-based system so no need to worry we can access this system from anywhere in the world.
we can access this from the browser or by installing their client application also so with the application it's very easy to navigate to folders and download things and I like this very much because of their convenient access from all over the world.
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually, for dislike I can say in the organization's point of view this Dropbox may be a bit expensive and for personal use install fine.
when we are going to Dropbox this process is not too fast and this is time-consuming but this is not a major issue.
And there's an issue with how to identify the users who are not in dropbox when we going to share files with outside Dropbox people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Daily files upload.
giving file access to the people.
remove files from dropbox.
sharing files with the users and remove access from the users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I can recommend this software for any people who are going to use this as official or personal because for both this is very simple and also when signin you will get free storage to test this.
if you are working from home then this is the perfect storage app for you to transfer files with everyone.

SMARTER WAY TO BACKUP IMPORTANT FILES

  • August 11, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is basically one of the most important cloud backup service that I use for my business and my freelancing career. It is reliable and makes it easy to store crucial work files and documents without having to worry about data loss and theft. Although I have multiple external hard drives to store my work files, nothing beats having a cloud service like Dropbox that is trusted and has proven its service reliability over the years. Sharing work files via links to customers and giving file access to co-workers is definitely my favorite feature that I frequently use. As an independent contractor, $9.99 / month for the plus plan is a fair cost of file storage and as the business expands, I would definitely use an upgrade to a much better plan to cater to my demanding business needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Premium features like Document Watermarking, Shared link controls, Account transfer tool, HIPAA compliance are not available for the plus plan which is understandable but "Device approvals" feature should have been included in the plus plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Dropbox desktop client keeps starting up in the background when I check my task manager on windows. There should be a setting to stop it from starting upon windows startup without having to kill the task on task manager.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dropbox is suitable for professionals that want a reliable cloud backup service. The plans are cost-effective and promise customer satisfaction. It is used by top freelancing professionals too. You can start with the free plan for test trials too.

RELIABLE and DEPENDABLE

  • August 11, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the way you can access your account from any computer and load up any critical document that is vital for personal or business needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes having problems uploading from andro phone, I believe the software could be the issue. I think another issue is the failure to communicate with the subscribers on issues that are relevant to the problems at hand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of my problems is being able to retrieve my business documents with no problems, and one thing I do like is that they help me to establish my business by organizing my client's important information. I understand that all companies have some issues as long as you address them and be constant with the customer needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I personally think it's an excellent product to have.

Secure, reliable storage.

  • August 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the download , cross device synchronization, upload speed and reliability of my Dropbox experience. Because I have used similar tools before, I am all too familiar with upload , synchronization and download speeds fluctuating with standard cloud based file storage programs.
However, I haven't faced the above issue as a Dropbox user.
What do you dislike about the product?
File preview with Dropbox is simply appalling. This is the only aspect of Dropbox which has frustrated me as a Dropbox user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox solves all of our file sharing and secured file retention problems. Dropbox provides myself and team mates with secured cloud storage and broad integration with a whole lot of active third party applications we use in the workplace.
