Slightly annoying but understandably necessary security measure
What do you like best about the product?
Okta utilizes both face/thumbprint recognition technology as well as offers methods of authentication that don't require users to use face or thumbprint recognition should they not want to open up their cameras.
What do you dislike about the product?
I fully understand why my company turned to Okta to ensure security and encryption. The majority of our regularly used applications are on the Okta (except for our payroll solution, which is weird and odd and troubling), and that created a giant hiccup in app usability when moving over to the Okta system. Additionally, because I need to authenticate using the Okta app on my phone, if I am on a plane, for example, and I only buy Internet on my laptop and not on my phone, there's no way for me to authenticate. Which dampens my ability to work productively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security, encryption, and unified birds eye over the kinds of applications that the company generally uses.

A Whole New World with SSO
What do you like best about the product?
Okta has provided our company with a more secure and simple way to sign in to our tech stack. It's also a great way to view many of the products we use (and I may not be aware of at the time). I like that it gives me a 4-hour timeline to not have to sign in again - so I usually only have to do it twice a day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a different way to validate myself rather than just using my phone. If I want to focus on work I leave my phone at my desk and have no way to sign in without running back to grab my phone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security as our company grows. Simplicity in signing into our large tech stack.

Keeps all of my accounts accessed in one spot.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, it's a minor complaint but having to use your phone to verify is a bit annoying. If you are in a meeting and have to leave to go grab your phone for verification it can waste some time.

Keeping all of my accounts secured in one spot.

I like that there's a push notification or code I can put in.

I hate that I have to have it on my phone. I'm trying to live in a world where I don't need my phone.

Single-Sign-On Made Easy
What do you like best about the product?
Okta's hub for all of our company's softwares makes it easy to access without having to remember a password for each. I know where to find each software and don't have to sort through bookmarks or history. I know when logging into a software or the Okta hub itself that my information is secure.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be somewhat tedious if your company has a software through Okta that has not been added to your hub. Additionally, signing into software apps on your mobile device and then navigating to Okta can be unreliable and inefficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Secure login and a home that houses all the important softwares I use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Makes logging into your softwares a thinkless task.
Works okay, but annoying if you get a new phone
What do you like best about the product?
It is very simple to use and set up initially. You are able to sign into Okta and get access to all the apps you need to at work. No need to remember site names or URLs. Works as a homepage.
What do you dislike about the product?
When you get a new phone you are locked out of Okta until you ask an IT member to reset the entire system. Also not a fan that you have to change your password so often.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing employees to access internal applications with dual verification.
I get it's purpose for security for the user it's super inconvenient
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it keeps the company secure. It's also nice to have all of your applications that you use in one place where you can see them. I do also like that it will send the verification to my Apple Watch.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that for basically every platform you sign in to, okta recognizes as an application to add to your stuff. So anytime I do choose to sign into anything personal it tries to save it. I also don't understand the mobile function, like apparently you need a new key every time you get a new phone. From my experience, you can't even access the applications from your phone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If you're an enterprise company this is a great SSO option because it's widely adopted, but there will be growing pains as your employees get used to it. For example, when we migrated over our adobe suite I lost access as an owner to a library I created and couldn't figure out how to get it back because our IT team didn't give us a heads up.
One login for *most* of my work accounts
What do you like best about the product?
With Okta I don't have to deal with remembering a bunch of passwords that have different requirements. Okta makes you change your password regularly, which is something I would normally forget to do. Definitely feel like my accounts are safer with Okta. I love that I can use my Apple Watch to log in.
What do you dislike about the product?
The two-step authentication/push notification can be annoying. Sometimes I'll have to do it 2 or 3 times in a day. The iphone app requires my face to unlock. It feels like a little much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Corporate control of permissions/logins. Less time back & forth checking who has permission for different accounts for new projects.
Locks up your data, but resets quickly
What do you like best about the product?
The benefits of using Okta are immense. We are able to ensure that our data is properly secure due to multi step verifications.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Okta is that it resets after a short period of time - so it can be irritating to have to go back in through the process while being in the middle of work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I haven't personally experienced what Okta has done - but that's a good thing. Knowing that mine and my company's data is secure really provides peace of mind.
A secure way to sign in
What do you like best about the product?
It's nice feeling secure in all my apps and not having to remember individual passwords for each one.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's very frustrating to not have an email option to approve logging in. We are only able to verify signing in on our phones so it's annoying when I'm in a meeting and need to pull up something connected to Okta and I have to stop and go get my phone if I left it at my desk.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not having to remember a bunch of passwords but also not worrying about how secure my accounts are.
