The best open source system
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about ubuntu is that it is a free code operating system besides that it offers a lot of facilities for developers and the best is its package manager apt

There is nothing that I do not like about ubuntu, all are advantages over other operating systems

The use that we give you mainly is to develop the software that we use in addition to using it for our servers

La interfaz es muy elegante e intuitiva. El terminal y la línea de comando también son súper intuitivos y fáciles de usar. Es completamente gratis y el soporte es muy bueno .El sistema operativo es muy estable y fácil de configurar y usar.

No hay nada que no me guste,llevo usando Ubuntu desde el colegio,hasta hoy en día y aún cuando algunos clentes me preguntan,se lo recomiendo sin duda

Ubuntu ha hecho que nuestros trabajadores aprendan acerca del mundo Linux de una manera muy fácil. Y nos ha proporcionado muchas herramientas que no podiamos obtener en Windows y casi todas gratis

Si estais usando otro sistema "open source" os aconsejo que os cambieis a Ubuntu,ofrece muchisimas más facilidades que cualquier otro y también ofrece cientos de programas gratuitos y todos son "open source" para que tengas la comodidad de usarlos a tu gusto sin restrinciones como en Windows,asi que les aconsejo que se cambien a Ubuntu sin pensarlo

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is the most user friendly distro among the entire Linux ecosystem. Over the year, many improvements have been brought to the User Interface and now with Ubuntu 18.04, things have completely changed. Many bugs have been fixed, UI has been fine tuned to suit even a beginner user and thus the learning curve for Linux has become linear now with Software Centre providing apps for all your daily needs.
Comparing with windows, would definitely recommend Ubuntu as a go-to solution for all your speed problems. Unlike windows, this Operating System doesn't get slow with time and process management is very efficient, thus your PC runs very smoothly.
Finally, for those geeks out there, you already know working with terminal is the best experience. You can practically control every aspect of the Operating System since it's open source and speaking of security, there are very less virus attacks that happen on Ubuntu since the package installation process and root system architecture is very secure.

>At the initial phases of Ubuntu, the user experience was bad with the learning curve too steep, but with the recent releases this gap has been filled.
>There are still some bugs that pop out rarely that interfere with hardware like Bluetooth which depends on device.

The biggest benifit through Linux Distros like Ubuntu is at the server side. Since it being lite and has a wide compatibility it can be used in the clouds and IoT very well.
Then, it is a biggest boon for the programmers since a wide array of libraries, languages and IDEs are supported with the added advantage of Terminal.

The best part is that since it is based on Linux, it is a free operating system. For users who are not very familiar with Linux, it is ideal because it is very similar to Windows.
This operating system takes up very little space and manages processes more efficiently than Windows.

The downside is that most games or programs are not available for download on this operating system. You need to download a program like Wine to be able to use software that you could install on Windows.

It is free, which saves money on purchasing a license. Also, most viruses do not affect this operating system since they are created for Windows.

I recommend the use of Ubuntu not only for the price but for the freedom of having free software and being able to configure it to your liking.

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Ubuntu 18.04 as my workstation, for the past sixty days and the operating system is working in perfect condition and, so far I have not faced any problem even after using it, for so many hours in a day.
The best thing I like about Ubuntu 18.04 is its software repository as it has all sorts of software available for developers as well as for graphic designers right from IDE's to Libra Office and the installation process for the software is quite easy. For music lovers, there is Rhythm box and, for capturing the screenshots there is Screenshot available.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only problem that, I don't like with this Linux operating system is its slowness, for starting, it takes quite some time to set itself for functioning properly and even for opening the browser like firefox it is quite slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a Web developer, I use atom for IDE and the browsers like Firefox and Chrome for testing the web pages and sometimes I use Inkscape, for graphics and for word processing I use Libra office and Tomboy. The greatest benefit of using Ubuntu 18.04, is its free software repository and it is quite useful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I will highly recommend Ubuntu 18.04 to others as its installation is quite easy and there are thousands of free software in its repository.

For personal use, I'd still prefer the GUI and Ease of use of Windows. That is what I would teach my parents to use, not Ubuntu

It indeed has a learning curve, but once you get to know how to become a power user, there is nothing quiet like it.

Adaptability to any work environment, does not depend on proprietary software and has software for any situation.

The lack of uniformity between desktop environments, which penalizes its use in offices, but at the same time gives richness and options of choice to the user.

Recover PCs with limited resources, install open-source software reducing costs, serve for training in sysops for new technicians.

It still depends a lot on terminal commands

Ubuntu is one of the distributions that is making the most effort because it is the desktop GNU / Linux distribution number one. Its constant updates and new features, its support, its stability, its graphical interface, more and more intuitive and careful, its graphic improvements. All this is getting more and more achieved for the end user, and that this, each time has fewer shortcomings since his arrival in Linux.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the latest versions of ubuntu, the UNITY desktop manager has been using, which I believe is not up to ubuntu, is slow, heavy and unfocused.

More than half of my users use it as a desktop operating system, with some great results. I also use it on some non-critical servers.
