Ubuntu Is a Great Desktop Distro
What do you like best about the product?
It's a very stable desktop OS that is well-supported by the community. I use it on all of my desktop Linux machines. Almost every open source and many commercial packages support Ubuntu. It's a relatively solid distro with a large hardware support list, and typically has features

I don't like it as a server distro. Ubuntu tends to change more during the update/upgrade process and this can lead to problems if the administrator isn't careful.

Ubuntu is easy to use, to install, the ultimate drivers., Easy to configure. if you want to start in linux. Ubuntu is the distribution to you. Excellent to use in desktop and servers, you can configure Ubuntu like a layer 3 switch (using open-vswitch), like router, firewall.. whatever you can imagine
What do you dislike about the product?
You must use. the latest gnome version by default. Is better to use a desktop light version. you should be able to choose between a minimalist and advance desktop environment. But in this case.. by default you start in default gnome, if you hace a old pc, maybe you need more resouce to use the last ubuntu version.

It works well without any surprises
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu Server's dpkg/apt package management system is faster than competing solutions (e.g. rpm in CentOS, RHEL).
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much I don't like about Ubuntu Server. Ubuntu Desktop's Amazon affiliation (and possible telemetry?) is a concern.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I run Ubuntu Server on several servers and it works well. In particular, the integrated LXD environment for provisioning and managing containers is fantastic when you need a container to be more of a "lightweight VM" than a single-application Docker container.
Familiar and easy to use

If you're familiar with Mac operating systems, you'll have no issues using an Ubuntu OS. It's also faster, and you can easily develop your software with little to no issues.

If you're unfamiliar with Mac OS, you might have a bit of difficulty learning how to use Ubuntu. The UI is much more simplified than a PC, so having to click less than you're used to might be a bit of a challenge!
