  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is an excellent operating system based on free software and open source that offers great opportunities for software developers because it is enough to have the basic knowledge of programming to reach large final products, in addition, it provides optimal conditions in terms of security since the Hackers or virus writers rarely attack Linux Software.
What do you dislike about the product?
a negative aspect is that when working on this operating system with complex Windows documents, the task becomes difficult or almost impossible due to the low compatibility to import from Windows for Linux, for what I consider to be a feature important to be optimized since Windows is popularly used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ubuntu for being a free software brings great benefits with its implementation, mainly the execution of tasks with greater security and have a great compatibility of boot in conjunction with Windows. Without a doubt, loads and performs tasks more efficiently than Windows, mainly has allowed to carry out programming tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
is an operating system with which it is easy to learn to program, is one of the areas, among its most important features is the fact that it is completely free and although it has paid versions (with technical support) is even cheaper than buying Windows

We can developed our robotic projects using ubuntu with ROS etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can choose it, there are many different versions one of them could be compatible with you.

Unique revelation in

What do you like best about the product?
Free operating system, focusing on security vulnerabilities, a different general training, intuitively its virus absolutely released is also the most notable feature. I chose Ubuntu rather than Red Hat for these reasons and because it is a Debian operating system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Regular updates to the operating system make it difficult to update the production servers. Even if my paintings don't want me at home, Ubuntu is also connected and from time to time, once I need effort, a break is impossible in most cases. Cases due to the maximum do not paint natively, so it is essential to do a lot of configurations to get them to work. Not all software is like that, but with Internet applications being more common, the problem is less severe.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the company level, we are considering ensuring that the system is complete, even at the server level, we are studying the migration procedure, as it could allow us to reduce costs, secure devices, and optimize the efficiency of application execution. Ubuntu is our primary server OS, reducing the risk of viruses and malicious applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ubuntu has all the major features that other users use in Windows, and Windows does not always have software in abundance. Such an operating system without cost.

Implementation on the Ubuntu environment

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A system for both behavior and mock coding and for behavior, ideal for programming and the actions you want to perform, is another factor that matters to you: the transaction manager, it is very easy to set up software from already configured repositories or to download a brand new repository and install it from there. It works quite well all the time I want to work, even Steam has a lot of AAA games roaming around there now.
What do you dislike about the product?
But it is worth investing many times to obtain the essential ease necessary to perform administrative tasks at record speed - The upgrades might damage the machine.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problem with ADB cellular devices, custom snapshots Flash on Android gadgets. I easily executed commands in third-party terminal applications and installed. Additionally, while checking the overall performance of our server, we use hardware primarily based on Ubuntu.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Also ensure that your applications run on Ubuntu and are organized in a way that allows restoration while an update specifically intended to replace the kernel breaks them. It would be really helpful to improve the visible aspect of a piece. A tremendous development has been made, but it is essential to improve the device environment, as the gadget is intended for programmers, it can be difficult to manage for unskilled users. Unusual person, but it has progressed a lot. With each new replacement.

Power without limits

What do you like best about the product?
- I liked it. Ubuntu reminded me of the Mac user interface. The package management system dpkg or apt of Ubuntu Server is faster than competing solutions. It is easy to obtain solutions to various difficult problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
- The GUI software continues to grow, I would say that Ubuntu today is mature enough, but for some it may still be a bit unstable. There could be greater support for more specific or specialized applications for people dedicated to a specific field (like architects, for example).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Saving a lot thanks to this. In our organization, we started switching from Windows and selected Ubuntu, which didn't make much difference for the users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
- However, it is possible that you may not get all the software available on another OS, such as specific software for architects or fields of this style as mentioned earlier, although most of the time you will always have Open Source and free alternatives.

What do you like best about the product?
- It is aimed at the average user, with a strong focus on ease of use and improving the user experience Apart from this, I like the Ubuntu font ans overall UI a lot Ubuntu is a leader in terms of performing and developing application of security, and that is why our in organization also Ubuntu is a preferred OS by majority of developers.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Maybe I "miss" vs dislike the bells and whistles of Windows This has been a disadvantage for me It is a tool that is very powerful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Ubuntu for software development and machine learning as there are many free open source software for it, Ubuntu is used as a sole operating system in many companies and also it is very helpful will doing many server-side works containers There’s definitely an ease to Ubuntu that you can’t get with windows in my opinion
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need something that gets the work done and enjoy working on a terminal instead of a graphical user interface, Ubuntu is a nice option For education and business it is best fit. It saves a ton of room on your HDD and its probably the easiest Linux OS you can download and install

Love Ubuntu!

  • March 15, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the flexibility of Ubuntu. It is easy to use from the terminal and easy to use from the GUI. It runs pretty much everything we need to administrate our servers, I think its the industry standard for servers
What do you dislike about the product?
Ubuntu is not very user-friendly as other operating systems like windows is, especially for beginners they have to struggle a lot to get a habit of it, installing any software in Ubuntu is not just a double-click thing it could be a headache for those wanting to use it as a operating system at home
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu is our servers primary OS
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You may have a bit of a learning curve coming from Windows. Stick with it, Ubuntu is brilliant and the community is really supportive. After a bit you will wonder why you ever though it was a challenge.

Fully secure operating system

  • March 11, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Safety is one of the factors that drive any ubuntu user to choose it. It's lightweight, very editable, and great for us programmers, as we can do everything through the terminal. I am programmer C and can program and compile my codes through GCC in the Linux terminal
What do you dislike about the product?
On the other hand, using Ubuntu deprives us of some things we could do on windows, for example. Some applications are not yet compatible with Linux, some games are not. Working with RPA and all leading market tools do not work on Linux distributions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu is an open source operating system, so many companies, including my own, end up opting to use it, since operating system licenses can be expensive. Security is another important factor in getting us to use ubuntu in our company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ubuntu is a very secure open source operating system, ideal for use by programmers, since it is possible to program directly through the Linux terminal

Ubuntu - As awesome OS

  • March 11, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I am a developer and Ubuntu is an awesome platform for me. It is very easy to install new softwares and tools, through the command line interface a.k.a terminal. It is exactly to the point, and you can expect to get things done really quickly provided you know the right commands.
What do you dislike about the product?
The GUI is still growing, I would say it is mature enough, but for some it may still be a bit of a setback. Running windows softwares could sometimes be painful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used for some machine learning and AI algorithms,
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Worth a try. If you need something that gets the work done and enjoy working on a terminal instead of a graphical user interface, Ubuntu is a nice option. It definitely is one of the best-operating systems ever.
