Amazing tool, make your own web site or blog
What do you like best about the product?
With Joomla I like that I can make my own blog in a company without any effort because I don't know to much code so I think that this is the right tool for me. It can be used in a lot of platforms like cell phone or desktop, notebook. Has a lot of functions like: widgets, news feeds, banners. Has an clear back-end and front-end part.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit hard to install it. You need an access to a ftp server. The documentation is not so clear. It can be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the moment I am using Joomla for a website for my department as an intranet page . It's low cost and easy to use. Simple support, quick improvement, fits to all needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to use it, it's very easy and you can find a lot of templates on the internet.

Old but still useful
What do you like best about the product?
It's quick to create new pages and setup meta data. I also like that there are multiple ways to achieve the same results within the interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though it's nice to have multiple ways to setup pages it also creates confusion when many people are working on the same website.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy website setup and maintenance. It also makes it easy to build connections to our custom CRM.
A Good CMS For If You Know Some HTML
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use with a lot of customization. Joomla is very easy to use once you get the hang of it, but it can take a few days to get used to using it. Once you know where everything is and how it works it really is relatively simply to navigate and understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Joomla may have too many features for some users. There is so much customization and so many options available in the base installation of Joomla it can be difficult to understand it all. I like the level of customization available, but some people have noted that it is difficult to really understand what everything does.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Joomla to host several different small one-off websites. Most of these are event websites, but some are simply informational.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a competent system admin who is familiar with Linux and PHP, Joomla is a solid choice. It is easy to set up and configure, but it can be slightly more challenging to manage content unless you are familiar with HTML, but this is really based on what template you choose.
HARD TO Use
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of features and helps with website
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to use, but much flexibility and has lots of bugs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backend for website
No my preferred website backend.
What do you like best about the product?
Joomla has a lot of plugins and templates available. Since it is open-source, anyone can develop anything they need to help enhance the front end user experience or the functionality of the backend. The Joomla learning curve is not very steep and there is a lot of support available for assistance. For someone who doesn't know much in the way of code, Joomla is a handy tool to build powerful websites with lots of add-ons, though.
What do you dislike about the product?
Joomla can be slow and clunky, adding a fair amount of time that amounts to "hurry up and wait" when building or editing websites. It can be frustrating. The other thing I do no like about Joomla is that when they are done supporting a version, it leaves your site open to vulnerability, but upgrading from one version to another can be a daunting task, as simply clicking "upgrade" can totally render your site useless if your template and/or plugins are not supported. For some uses, Joomla may not be the best option.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In one instance, I was able to help build a Joomla-based web template for franchise companies to be able to update on their own after initial setup. Admin remained with the franchisor, to ensure compliance with the program, but the franchisee was able to go in and update info, add photos, and more, giving them some control and keeping everyone happy.
In another instance I was able to build a fully functioning, responsive, ecom website in a very short period of time. The company did not have an ecom site prior to that, but was a Joomla user. Having the ability to set up the site in the latest version of Joomla, in a "sandbox" environment, gave me the ability to fully test the site before launch. We were also able to use various plugins, like Virtuemart, to give customers an easy shopping experience.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would thoroughly research all options before selecting Joomla, and do a trial period to be sure Joomla is the right fit.
Great flexible CMS
What do you like best about the product?
Joomla is a fantastic content management which we use to host several website throughout our company. It is flexible, Negates the need for advanced coding knowledge and building facilities such as forms are made simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found it difficult on occasions to find modules and template parts on websites which I have inherited and it is not always easy to navigate the backend.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Joomla makes it easy for our copywriters and editors to update our websites without the need for specialist coding knowledge.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Personally I much prefer Umbraco or even wordpress but joomla has its uses for someone who is more experienced in its use than I am.
A Good Web Management Tool for Experienced Users
What do you like best about the product?
For experiences users, this is a great web management tool (probably the best one on the market).
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very expensive when compared to its competitors and you have to be an experienced with web design and development to use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need a web development management tool for our new website, one that multiple people could access to edit our website.

As far as content management Joomla is first choice
What do you like best about the product?
I like best is the amount of supported add ons, and how seamlessly everything flows when multiple users are on the server at the same time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ecommerce add ons weren't so great, I had a hard time implementing them, but I was still able to use their software for other content management needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Joomla for content management. Things like car shows and other events were advertised on our Joomla site, and we were able to have many galleries filled with cars to look at which ran smoothly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it, but make sure you have extra funding for things like add ons if you want your site to vary from others as a lot of people use the basic templates available.
