An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
To begin using this image, connect via RDP. Until you RDP into the instance and validate your credentials, you will not be able to access the application via public DNS. To connect to the operating system, use RDP and the username Administrator. For instructions on using RDP to connect to your Windows instance, see the AWS EC2 documentation: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/WindowsGuide/connecting_to_windows_instance.html . Please note, due to hardening and SysPrep, this image may take upwards of 20 minutes to instantiate. Once you are logged into the instance via RDP, you will be met with a launch wizard that asks you for your instance ID. This information can be found in the instance page of the EC2 Console. Once you have completed the wizard and are provided with the username and password, you should promptly change the password to something unique to you. At this point, the application will be accessible via public DNS. Default Installation Path for SQL Server 2014 is C:\Program Files\SQLServer.
