Overview
AIDE on Ubuntu 22.04 with maintenance support by ATH. This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for support. AIDE is an advanced security tool designed to help system administrators monitor the integrity of their file systems. By creating a database of the file system state during initialization, AIDE can later compare this baseline to the current state of files and directories, identifying any unauthorized changes. These changes may include modifications, deletions, or additions of files, which could indicate a security breach. AIDE supports a wide range of checksum algorithms and can be customized to monitor specific files or directories, making it a versatile solution for maintaining system security and integrity.
Highlights
- Continuously scans and checks the file system against a known baseline to detect unauthorized changes, providing an essential layer of security for the system.
- Allows users to define which files and directories to monitor, specify which attributes (such as permissions, ownership, and checksums) to check, and set up custom rules for different parts of the system.
- Generates detailed reports on any detected changes, including the specific files affected, the type of modification, and the nature of the change, aiding in quick identification and response to potential security incidents.
